Panthers beat Lions 32-26 on Sunday Night Football

Bryce Young threw for 329 yards and two touchdowns and Tetairoa McMillan piled up 192 receiving yards as Carolina held off a late Detroit rally to win 32-26 at Bank of America Stadium.

The Carolina Panthers beat the Detroit Lions 32-26 on Sunday Night Football at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, evening their record at 2-2 and dropping Detroit to 2-2, Sportradar’s final game feed confirmed.

Bryce Young was superb for Carolina, completing 29 of 41 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. His favourite target was second-year wideout Tetairoa McMillan, who torched the Lions secondary for 14 catches, 192 yards and both scores, the Detroit Free Press reported.

The Panthers were tied 16-16 at half-time but took control in the third quarter. Chuba Hubbard’s second touchdown of the night, a 2-yard plunge with 2:47 left in the third, capped a seven-play, 85-yard drive to make it 29-19, USA Today reported.

Detroit refused to go away. Jared Goff threw for 412 yards, and his 8-yard touchdown pass to Sam LaPorta with 3:38 remaining cut the lead to six. But the Panthers defense held: Devin Lloyd stopped a fourth-and-20 hook-and-ladder earlier in the quarter, and the Lions came up short on fourth-and-13 with 1:22 left as Carolina ran out the clock.
