United States complete Sunday comeback to win Presidents Cup at Medinah

The United States overturned a 10.5–7.5 deficit to win the 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club, sealing an 11th consecutive victory in the event with a dominant Sunday singles session.

The United States have won the 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club in Illinois, completing a Sunday singles comeback to seal an 11th consecutive victory in the biennial event.

The Americans trailed 10.5–7.5 after Saturday’s play but won nine of the 11 completed Sunday singles matches to move to 16.5–12.5, beyond the 15.5 points required to lift the Cup. One match — Nick Taylor against Russell Henley — was still on the course when the result was confirmed.

World number one Scottie Scheffler beat Colombia’s Nico Echavarria 2&1, while Justin Thomas thrashed Canada’s Corey Conners 5&3. Rookie Chris Gotterup edged Christiaan Bezuidenhout 1 up, Collin Morikawa beat Hideki Matsuyama 1 up, and Patrick Cantlay saw off Adam Scott 2&1.

The decisive stretch came from the back of the order: 21-year-old rookie Jackson Koivun beat Si Woo Kim 2 up, Jacob Bridgeman beat Min Woo Lee 1 up, and Xander Schauffele closed out Ryan Fox 2&1. Tom Kim’s 3&2 win over Wyndham Clark and Sungjae Im’s 3&1 defeat of Sam Burns were the International team’s only full points on Sunday.

The 16th edition of the Presidents Cup was held from 24 to 27 September at Medinah Country Club’s Course No. 3, with Brandt Snedeker captaining the United States and Geoff Ogilvy leading the International team.
