The Seattle Seahawks beat the Los Angeles Chargers 30-23 at Lumen Field on Sunday, seizing on early turnovers to build a lead they never gave up. The defeat keeps the Chargers winless at 0-4.
Justin Herbert was intercepted by Drake Thomas on the very first play from scrimmage, NBC Sports reported. A second turnover soon followed when Derius Davis muffed a Michael Dickson punt and Connor O’Toole recovered for Seattle at the Chargers’ 23-yard line. Sam Darnold immediately cashed in with a 23-yard touchdown pass to running back Emanuel Wilson — his first touchdown as a Seahawk.
Seattle led 20-6 at half-time and extended the advantage through the third quarter. The Chargers mounted a late rally in the fourth, including a field goal with 2:14 remaining that cut the deficit to 30-23. Los Angeles then regained possession at its own 11-yard line with 1:42 left and all three timeouts, but could not convert, Seahawks Wire reported.
