Five Will Reichard field goals lift Vikings to 15-10 win over Dolphins

The Minnesota Vikings beat the Miami Dolphins 15-10 on Sunday without scoring a touchdown, riding five Will Reichard field goals to a 4-0 record while the Dolphins fell to 0-4.

The Minnesota Vikings moved to 4-0 on Sunday with a 15-10 win over the Miami Dolphins, a victory built entirely on the leg of kicker Will Reichard, who made all five of his field goals. Minnesota never reached the end zone.

Tight end T.J. Hockenson was the Vikings’ standout performer, catching all 13 passes thrown his way for 119 yards. On his final catch, Hockenson deliberately went to the ground at the two-yard line at the two-minute warning to manage the clock; with the Dolphins out of timeouts, Minnesota only had to kneel down to seal the win.

Running back Aaron Jones carried 20 times for 94 yards, and quarterback Kyler Murray did enough on a day the Vikings needed little from their offence. The win came without star wide receiver Justin Jefferson, and Minnesota also lost left guard Donovan Jackson (knee) and left tackle Christian Darrisaw (neck) during the game.

For Miami, running back Ollie Gordon rushed for 100 yards in his first start in place of the injured De’Von Achane, but quarterback Malik Willis struggled under relentless Vikings pressure. At 0-4, the Dolphins look like the worst team in the NFL, while the Vikings remain one of the league’s most pleasant surprises.
