Microsoft executive Ryan Roslansky will leave the company at the end of 2026 after nearly 18 years at LinkedIn and Microsoft, announced on Thursday (https://www.fastcompany.com/91616962/linkedin-ceo-leaves-microsoft-citing-return-to-work-full-time-every-day-in-office-ryan-roslansky). He will stay as an adviser to chief executive Satya Nadella through year-end to support the transition (https://windowsforum.com/news/ryan-roslansky-to-leave-microsoft-linkedin-and-microsoft-365-reporting-changes.446863/).

Roslansky led LinkedIn for six years after becoming chief executive in 2020, growing membership from 700 million to 1.3 billion (https://www.whatjobs.com/news/former-linkedin-ceo-roslansky-to-leave-microsoft-at-year-end-over-redmond-role/). His remit later expanded to Microsoft’s Office group, with Teams and the Copilot AI platform added (https://www.morningstar.com/news/dow-jones/202610017712/microsoft-executive-former-linkedin-ceo-roslansky-stepping-down).

He said: “I know what it would take for me to lead the next phase of this work well: being in Redmond full time, every day. But my life and my family’s life are here in the Bay Area.” He added: “I thought about this for a long time. It’s the right call.” (https://www.fastcompany.com/91616962/linkedin-ceo-leaves-microsoft-citing-return-to-work-full-time-every-day-in-office-ryan-roslansky)

Nadella wrote: “Ryan leaves the organization in a strong position.” Dan Shapero stays LinkedIn chief executive and Mohak Shroff president of platforms and digital work, both reporting to Nadella (https://www.morningstar.com/news/dow-jones/202610017712/microsoft-executive-former-linkedin-ceo-roslansky-stepping-down). The exit follows this year’s departures of gaming chief Phil Spencer and Office leader Rajesh Jha (https://www.fastcompany.com/91616962/linkedin-ceo-leaves-microsoft-citing-return-to-work-full-time-every-day-in-office-ryan-roslansky).
